MEMS Switch
We are a group of passionate students collectively researching about developing the world-class MEMS switches with ideal switching characteristics such as zero leakage current, ultra low sub-threshold swing, and insensitivity to harsh environments.
NEMS Switch
Our goal is to develop the state-of-the-art NEMS switches for application in low power electronics. Traditionally, semiconductor-based switching devices have dominated the hardware industry; however, we discovered that the NEMS switches can potentially attain comparable performances such as low actuation voltage and fast switching speed.
Applications
Our group has successfully implemented M/NEMS switches in applications such as computing, RF communication, and power gating devices. Two of the paramount accomplishments we have achieved is Nano-thermo-mechanical encoding scheme for digital information storage and high-performance complementary logic inverter. Currently, we are actively researching about developing the next-generation semiconductor technologies by utilizing the advantageous features of electro-mechanical switches such as NEMS switch-based reconfigurable logic (e.g., FPGA) and logic-in-memory.
